Attitude IS Everything
The number one goal of sales training is to make sales. Now, there are definitely tactics and strategies being taught, but there’s a lot more to becoming a top earner. Wayne Gretzky said that Hockey is 90% Mental and sales is no different. Being a top producer is ALL about attitude.
So, attitude is everything. People say it all the time, attitude is everything, but what exactly does it mean? Does it mean if we’re excited and enthusiastic about selling we’ll make more sales? Hardly. It’s a lot more involved than that. Attitude is everything really means attitude encompasses everything. Top producers not only have great attitudes towards their customers, but to their company, and the products and services they offer. They have great attitudes towards keeping their trucks clean, uniforms clean and themselves clean; they have impeccable grooming habits.
But it goes even deeper. They have great attitudes towards learning about new products and all the ways they can enhance the lives of their customers, and most importantly, they have great attitudes towards developing powerful presentations and practicing them. One of the most common mistakes made by techs is not knowing their material. They stumble through half-baked presentations and wonder why they can’t sell. Attitude IS everything, especially when it comes to doing the things we don’t like doing. |
